WKFHA Terms and Conditions

TERMS AND CONDITIONS: WESTMORLAND-KENT FEMALE HOCKEY ASSOCIATION

In consideration of your participation in the Westmorland-Kent Hockey Association's 2024-2025 hockey season, you agree to comply with the terms of this agreement including paying all fees and charges set out in this agreement to the WKFHA Hockey Association.

1. The Hockey Season

The 2024-2025 hockey season program will run as follows:

Anticipated Start Date:  October 2024.  This is an anticipated start date and may be extended.

End Date:  March 2025.

2.  Registration:  All participants must register by September 15th, 2024.  Any registrations received after that date will be charged a $50 late fee.

3. Fees and Refund Policy

Registration and participation is subject to your payment of the following fees, which are, payable to the Hockey Association by e-transfer or in person (details about the time and venue to be determined).

U7:   $350

U9:   $400

U11:  $500

U13:  $550

U15:  $550

U18:  $550

U13/U15/U18 Goaltender Refund:  A goaltender, at the aforementioned age groups, may receive a 50% discount from the registration fee, IF they play the entire first half of the season as a goalie only and intend to play the entire second half as a goalie only as well.  Applications for the refund can be sent to [email protected] in January.  Parents must have their coach verify that their daughter has both played in nets up to January and will continue to be in nets until the end of the season.

Refunds are determined on a percentage of the season that has already been played.

Refund Dates and Pourcentages:

-November 15th          75%

-December 15th          50%

-January 15th              25%

-January 31st              0%

The rationale for January being the last cut off date for refund is because at this point in the season the bulk of our ice time has already been used.  Of course, there are always extenuating circumstances that can be looked at on an individual basis and brought before the board for a ruling.

4.  Method of Payment

There are 3 methods of payment:

    A. E-transfer to [email protected]. PLEASE INCLUDE THE FIRST NAME AND THE LAST NAME OF YOUR DAUGHTER.  AS WELL AS HER DATE OF BIRTH IN THE MESSAGE PORTION OF THE E-TRANSFER. Please use hockey2024 as the password.

   B.  In-person on (details to follow).

   C.  Installment Plan:  The first amount will be due on Friday, September 15th, 2024 and the remainder will be due on December 17th, 2024.

5.  Sportsmanship and Rules

To foster reasonable behaviour, to enhance sportsmanship and to make competition a developmental experience, the WKFHA requires its players and parents to meet minimum standards of conduct.

A.  The members of this Association will not condone nor encourage violence or bad manners or bad language on or off the ice.

B.  Among both house league and travelling teams, CHA behaviour modification penalties will be implemented.  In exceptional circumstances, the Vice-President may impose additional penalties.

C.  In any team situation, in or around ice surfaces, dressing rooms or arenas, proper behaviour is expected of the WKFHA players and coaching staff.  Acts of violence, use of offensive language and/or the consumption of alcoholic beverages or drugs are not acceptable behaviour.

D.  Consumption of alcoholic beverages or drugs by players or coaching staff in a game or practice situation, or arriving inebriated in such a  situation, is grounds for immediate dismissal.

E.  Players, parents, or members of the WKFHA who do not meet these standards will be encouraged not to attend games.  Failure to comply could result in suspension or expulsion from the hockey program.

6.  Risk of Injury

You acknowledge that there is an inherent risk of injury (both minor and serious) or death associated with participating in the league whether physical exercise or otherwise.  You have considered and voluntarily assume all risk of injury or death relating to your (and/or your daughter's) participation in the league and you hereby release and forever discharge and agree to indemnity of the Hockey Association, its affiliated corporations and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents (collectively the "Indemnified Parties") of and from all claims, damages, actions, or causes which arise therefrom.  You hereby waive all claims that you (and/or your daughter) may have against any one or more of the "Indemnified Parties" for injury sustained by you (and/or your daughter) as a result of any physical exercises or activities that you (and/or your daughter) undertake in participating in the association.  You agree this waiver and release is reasonable and proper, particularly given the nature of the Hockey Association's business.
