SWHA Registration Payment and Refund Policy

SWHA Payment Policy

Effective starting in the 2016/17 season, Credit Card is the only form of payment accepted by SWHA. Make sure you have a Visa or Mastercard with you to complete the registration. If you do not currently have a credit card, banks and Canada Post have prepaid credit cards that can be used.  Visa or Mastercard gift cards are also accepted.

A separate registration process will be made available for families that will be applying for financial assistance, however payment in full will need to be confirmed prior to players stepping on the ice.

Effective starting in the 2021/22 season, post dated cheques will no longer be accepted for players trying out for AAA or High School. Instead an installment payment plan will be offered which collects a smaller fee up front (to cover costs associated with preseason / tryouts) and the remaining registration fees will be automatically charged to the same credit card on October 15, unless the player has advised the SWHA Registrar that they were successful in either AAA, AA or High School tryouts and will be withdrawing from SWHA to play for their AAA, AA, or High School team.

Full details of this can be found on the SWHA website.

SWHA Refund Policy

In the event that you need to cancel your registration, email the SWHA Registrar as soon as you have decided.  Refunds require the approval of the SWHA Registrar and/or Board of Directors.  All refunds processed by SWHA will be subject to a minimum processing fee of either $20 or 5% of initial registration fees paid (whatever is lower).  Credit card refunds are processed within a week.

The amount refunded to any player will take into account any ice fees incurred for pre-season skates, evaluations, and scheduled games (regardless if played) up to the date of the refund request when determining the amount to be refunded.

A $60.00 per player community centre “Participation Fee” is charged to each member in order to help pay for costs of providing facilities. This fee and will be retained in all refund situations except for those players advancing to and participating in High School programs. The mandated community centre fee is collected by SWHA and forwarded to the player’s home community centre.  This is NOT a hockey program fee.

Full details of this can be found on the SWHA website.
