REGISTRATION POLICIES

1.  PAYMENT OF FEES

  • All outstanding fees and commitments from the previous season must be settled before your 2023-2024 registration will be accepted.
  • Fees may be paid by Visa, MasterCard or E-Transfer.
  • All  registration fees must be paid in full by SEPTEMBER 5th unless you contact the registrar and enter into a Personal Payment Plan (see Personal Payment Plan below).
  • E-Transfers:
    • E-Transfers can be emailed to [email protected]
    • E-Transfers can be done in one payment or split into two payments. The first E-Transfer of 50% of the total registration fee must be made on the day you register your child online.  The SECOND E-Transfer, representing the 50% balance of the registration fee, can be made anytime on or before September 5th.
  • Visa or MasterCard
    • The Hawks have been using PAYSAFE as our online credit card provider for the past 8 years.  PAYSAFE is a Hockey Canada recommended and secure credit card payment provider.
    • If the credit card option is used, the following will be displayed on your credit card statement:  HAWKS ATHLETIC CLUB.
  • PERSONAL PAYMENT PLAN AGREEMENT
    • Please contact our registrar if you are awaiting funding that will not be received until after the September deadline.
  • CONDITIONING CAMP FEES must be paid in full at the time of registration.

2.   REFUND POLICY

Players withdrawing from the Hawks Athletic Club may apply for a refund as follows:

Prior to Evaluations - a refund of paid fees minus a $50.00 administration fee.

After Evaluations and prior to placement on a team - may apply for a refund of fees minus a $150.00 administrative/evaluation fee.

After placement on a team - registration fees are non-refundable.

2.1  CONDITIONING CAMP REFUND POLICY

  • There is no refund for Conditioning Camp registrations.

3.  MANDATORY RESPECT IN SPORT PARENT COURSE

  • The Respect in Sport Parent Course is a MANDATORY online certification program that MUST BE COMPLETED BY AT LEAST ONE PARENT or guardian of each player registered in minor hockey in Alberta.
  • It is IMPORTANT TO NOTE that this course must be taken prior to any on-ice activities.  This includes the first evaluation skate OR the free "Learn to Skate" sessions in September hosted by the Hawks Athletic Club for our U7 Discovery and U7 Jr. Timbits players.
  • If a player shows up for an evaluation skate with the mandatory Respect in  Sport Parent course still outstanding on the player's Hockey Canada Registry profile, the player will not be allowed on the ice and there will not be a "make-up" evaluation date and time set for this player.
  • Registrations are NOT complete until the Respect in Sport Parent Course is completed.
  • The Respect in Sport Parent course can be found at https://hockeyalbertaparents.respectgroupinc.com.
  • If you need extra help completing the course, more detailed information on how to log into and complete the course can be found on the Hawks website at www.hawksathletics.ca.
  • If you have already completed the course for a child (within the past 4 years) and are registering a "new" child (player), you do not have to do the course again.  Please log into your Respect in Sport Parent account and simply follow the instructions to "ADD A CHILD".
  • The cost of the course is $12.60 ($12.00+$0.60 GST) and is required to be paid online by the parent.  Be advised that only ONE PARENT is required to do the course.
  • Since the Respect in Sport Parent course expires after 4 years and must be renewed, it is highly recommended to check if your RIS Parent Certification is still valid by visiting the Respect in Sport Parent website at https://hockeyalbertaparent.respectgroupinc.com.
  • IMPORTANT NOTE TO COACHES:  THE RESPECT IN SPORT ACTIVITY LEADER COURSE is different than the RESPECT IN SPORT PARENT COURSE.  You must complate the Respect in Sport Activity Leader course if you plan to coach.

4.  BINGO POLICY

  • Working one bingo per registration is mandatory for every single category (U7-Discovery, U7-Jr.Timbits, U7-Sr.Timbits, U9, U11 and U13).
  • If you have more than two children registered with the Hawks Athletic Club, your mandatory bingo commitment will be capped at TWO mandatory bingos.
  • Please note that bingo revenue is returned to the registrants through subsidizied ice costs, reduced conditioning camp costs, payment of coach courses for Hockey Canada certification, reimbursement of referee fees, purchasing jerseys, pant shells, goalie equipment, etc.
  • For those working the mandatory bingo,  we will require a credit card numbe.  Please contact the Gaming Director at [email protected].
  • Failure to book your mandatory bingo by November 1st, faliure to work your bingo on the pre-arranged date, cancelling your bingo with less than 48 hours notice, "No-Shows", or in the event that your bingo requirement has not been satisfied by the end of the season for any reason whatsoever, will result in your credit card being charged for $300.
